Effects

Status: Optional

For any effect the following data must be specified

  1. Type
  2. StartOffsetTC+EndOffsetTC or Duration+Inclusive+Anchor
  3. Steps (Specified or auto)

There are 4 types of effects that may be applied to any PG event. There are only two types of effects that apply to TextSt events.

  1. Fade
  2. Color
  3. Crop
  4. Position
  5. Fade

Two Fades are available; Fade IN from fully transparent and Fade OUT to fully transparent which executes over the specified duration or TC range.

  1. Color

This is similar to Fade except that instead of going from or to fully transparent state, the event changes to the specified color palette or is modified by a percentage value for each of the components.

  1. Crop

The image can be cropped from any side progressively to create a Wipe effect. The crop may be specified by (Left, Top, Right, Bottom) or as a rectangle (X,Y, Width, Height)

  1. Position

The image can be moved from the current position to a new position in the specified number of steps.

All effects may be defined for Graphic events. Only Fade and Color effects can be defined for Text events. BD-ROM specification constraints will limit the range or parameters for these effects. E.g. TextSt palette may be updated only every two frames.
