   This drive does not come with Blu-Ray/DVD playback software, despite Asus’ webpage claiming to include it on the software DVD in the package. I called them to report this, and the rep was clueless, tried to blame the problem on Windows, and claimed that no at all software is included. All incorrect. Asus’ support website and email form also do not list the drive at all.

   The design of the drive is otherwise good, and it powered from my machine from a single USB plug despite having two on the end just in case. Your mileage will vary on that.

   Still, the software issue and then the lousy support response are showstoppers for me. CAUTION.

   Amazon deserves praise on how they handled it. They are taking the drive back no questions asked.

   Please beware. This drive does NOT write blu ray discs. It only reads them. The limited description that was provided does not make this clear. It will read and write dvd media, and apparently cd-rs as well. Very disappointed in this purchase.
