Don’t Waste Your Money,
I based my purchase of this item on the one glowing review that was up at the time, and the fact that it is cheap, so it would not be an expensive mistake. Well, it was a $13 + shipping mistake. The picture of this antenna looks nice, but what you receive when you order it is a flimsy piece of foam with a picture of blue streaks on it, resting on a plastic stand. It’s very small and almost a joke. When I opened it I felt like I had been ripped off.
But I wanted to give it a chance. I thought maybe it looks like a piece of junk, but will work great. Don’t judge a book by its cover, etc. OK, so I hooked it up. It brought in 4 channels, some very broken up. I went out and bought (on sale, luckily) a Radio Shack amplified HDTV antenna. Both guys who work there told me it was definitely the best one they sell. It says “technology plus” on the box in small letters. I don’t see a model number. It has a UHF loop in the center and two long rabbit ears. You plug it in, and it has gain control, which does a lot in bringing in the TV image. This antenna brought in 12 channels, 11 of them crystal clear, the 12th not bad. I live in the far north area of Chicago.
I haven’t had any other antennas to compare these to since TV went digital, but clearly the AN2 Indoor Digital HDTV Antenna is a must-to-avoid.

|ARTEC AN2,
I live in Orange County, 30-40 miles South of LA. I bought 3 of this antenna for my 3 rooms. I am very satisfied with every single of them. They are all indoor antennaes. The one in my den gets, I counted one time, 91 HD channels of various languages, besides the Spanish and English channels Vietname, Korean, Chinese, etc. The one in my bedroom gets 67 channels and the one in my study gets 46 channels, depending on location and orientation. I was thinking about the outdoor such as Lava, Spectrum, thinking I would get more, but after reading the comments, I saw some peope are really happy receiving 20-30 channels with them. I realize that I have been lucky with the ARTEC, so why change it.
As I said, all depend on your location and orientation, but with this price, I would not hesitate to try.

|Fantastic Indoor Digital Antenna at a great price,
I purchased this antenna to try out since it was less than $10. I was using the Philips PHDTV1 Silver Sensor UHF / HDTV Digital Indoor TV Antenna for two years and was never able to get a couple of the big networks such as FOX and NBC in the San Jose area. I was amazed after the channel search that I was able to get every big network channel in addition to many unknown ones. Great product for a great price.
